The TUTORIAL area of our website consists of Two Sections:
____________________________________________
This training section of our website is primarily setup as a membership ONLY area,
where you can learn or
(every once-in-awhile)
review practical Powered Parachute related
concepts. These concepts are setup in modules - very similar to the modules on your
KNOWLEDGE Test and covered in the areas of your PRACTICAL/PROFICIENCY Testing
- But we also cover "Everyday-related-PPC-stuff" (both from the ground and from the air).
'Stuff' that is not covered in a FAA standard Test, but knowledge, skills & maneuvers
that our experience dictates is important to the safety of a PPC pilot!
_________________________________________________________________________
-
-
Our powered parachute training tutorials are video and graphical presentations. These
professional lessons are produced and staged, as if you are in the classroom, or on the
training field.
But we don't just talk about PPC concepts on a 'White-Board'. Instead, our tutorials
actually show you close-up, via video/graphic zooms, the concepts and the details of
many of the current brands/models of powered parachutes!
-
All areas of your Knowledge Test and Practical/Proficiency Test are covered in our online
program, along with basic maintenance, storage, transportation and other "everyday
PPC ground & flying stuff" that is not covered in a FAA standard test. Hence not only will
these
presentations help you to pass your required testing, but
- and perhaps more
importantly - these tutorials will keep you updated and informed on the practical issues
regarding our unique form of aviation.
-
We trust that these presentation will enhance your piloting skills and move
you away from aviation complacency and towards a safer piloting position of
awareness.
-
- Our primary video & online trainers are Scott Hughes and Fredrick Scheffel. These gentlemen have successfully solo'd almost 1000
(997 as of October 2008)
powered parachute students. They are both current CFI's with
(as you may have guessed)
many years of experience in the powered parachuting world. Their experiences range from World Class competitors
(consistently in
the top 10)
... to manufacturing unique & industry Grand Champion PPC designs... to authoring
FAA handbooks on Powered Parachuting... to Search and Rescue operations via the PPC and
to lecturing at PPC fly-ins & aviation events.
-
-
And - as always - we welcome your comments about our Online Tutorial Program.

"Murphy's Law" is - unfortunately still alive and well.
Therefore, as long as mere humans are flying powered
parachutes, incidents &
accidents are going to be a part
of the sport. However, by understanding what has already happened to others
(and we want to sincerely THANK those that have graciously shared their stories)
- well by reviewing past situations, new & old pilots can learn
to better understand and hence more likely, prevent
unpleasant situations of their own.
The Accident tutorial reviews discusses the videos and graphics of mishaps.
